During the first week of classes, parents of students ages 3-6 are welcome to sit inside the studio and observe classes. Following the first week of classes, once your child has had a chance to adjust to his /her environment, we ask that you please refrain from sitting inside the studio. We find the children are less distracted and pay more attention to the teacher when parents are not in the room.

What is Pointe? Pointework is a component of classical ballet training that we offer six days a week. Think of it like body building, training for a marathon, or playing the piano – how quickly can you build strength, endurance, technique, and muscle memory if your training doesn’t entail appropriate frequency and repetition? Dancing sur les pointes is not intended for very young or beginner ballet students. We encourage our elite students to attend ballet/pointe as many days a week as they can. For the safety and progress of our students, we require dancers to take a minimum of two ballet & pointe classes per week. *Dancers that are new to pointe will take their pointe classes in their regular ballet slippers and work on demi pointe until your teacher feels you are ready/strong enough to be fitted for your first pair of pointe shoes.
