About the Studio

We love to dance.

At The Studio, our vision is to create a welcoming, inspiring space where dancers of all ages, backgrounds, and abilities can grow not just in skill, but in confidence, creativity, and connection. We believe that dance has the power to bring people together, to tell stories, and to uplift our community.

Our goal is to be more than just a place to take dance classes—we want to be a second home for our students, where they feel supported, challenged, and celebrated. Through high-quality instruction, inclusive programming, and performances that reflect the heart of our community, we aim to make dance accessible, meaningful, and fun for everyone.

We’re passionate about nurturing the next generation of artists and leaders, and we’re committed to growing with our community every step of the way.

The Studio Dance School first opened its doors in the Kennebecasis Valley in August 2003. In our inaugural year, we welcomed 150 students and had a single full-time instructor. Today, we’ve grown to over 300 students, with a second studio in Saint John and a dedicated team of seven staff members. We offer more than 40 classes each week, catering to students of all ages, from 3 years old to adults. Our school is also home to 5 competitive teams. Over the years, we’ve expanded our class offerings, which now include Tap, Jazz, Lyrical, Hip Hop, Modern/Contemporary, and Ballet. Additionally, we regularly host workshops with guest instructors when the opportunity arises.

At The Studio, we prioritize creating a welcoming and inclusive community where every dancer feels safe, supported, and encouraged to grow. We believe that dance is not just about technique, but also about building confidence, fostering friendships, and providing a space where students can truly express themselves. Whether in the classroom or beyond, our focus is on nurturing each dancer’s individuality and helping them develop a strong sense of belonging within our dance family.

Since our founding 22 years ago, we’ve not only trained countless dancers but have also developed a comprehensive Teacher-in-Training Program. This apprenticeship is unique to our area and is designed to nurture the next generation of dance instructors. Participants in this intensive program must assist teachers in the classroom, attend workshops, complete assignments, and pass both written and practical exams—all while continuing their own dance training. This demanding program requires a significant commitment, but the result is a team of highly trained, professional dance instructors whom we are incredibly proud to have representing our school.

We’re also deeply committed to our local community. Each year, The Studio Dance School hosts a Christmas Food Drive to support the KV Food Bank, and we proudly sponsor organizations such as KV Oasis, Hestia House, and the Empty Stocking Fund. Our staff shares their expertise through dance instruction at local schools and figure skating clinics and by participating in community events like the IWK Telethon, Dragon Boat Festival, and fundraising efforts for the St. George Church Women’s Shelter and Hestia House.
